Healing Hands x Rounds Health: A Yoga & Wellness Reset for Nurses in Santa Monica

Healing Hands Editorial Team October 17, 2025

Nurses spend their days caring for everyone else—and often put their own well-being last. To help change that, Healing Hands partnered with Rounds Health to host the first-ever Nurse Wellness Social in Santa Monica: a day dedicated entirely to rest, recovery, and gratitude for the professionals who carry so much on their shoulders.

On Saturday, September 13th, more than 100 nurses and healthcare professionals gathered at a stunning beachfront home to experience yoga, cold plunges, sauna sessions, massages, nourishing food, and mindful connection. Each yoga participant wore a gifted pair of Healing Hands scrubs, while the livestream reached over 2,000 viewers—spreading a message of appreciation and self-care far beyond the beach.

To capture the spirit of the day, we spoke with the founders of Rounds Health and several nurse attendees about what the experience meant to them.

Building Better Lives for Nurses with Rounds Health

To learn more about the mission behind Rounds Health—and why they partnered with Healing Hands for this event—we asked co-founders Sarah and Josh to share their perspective.

Healing Hands: For nurses who may not know you yet, what is Rounds Health and how do you support healthcare professionals?

Sarah and Josh: We help nurses get the best fit and highest paying jobs. Our mission is to build “the dream work life for nurses” across pay, specialty, flexibility, career growth, location, culture and more.

We both had our own unique journeys into healthcare. Sarah was raised in a family of nurses and Josh suffered a life-changing car accident. What united us is our core belief: the way to fix healthcare is to focus on the people, first. Specifically, on taking care of the people who care for patients.

Healing Hands: Why was it important for Rounds Health to partner with Healing Hands on the Nurse Wellness event in Santa Monica?

Sarah and Josh: It was simple: Healing Hands lives and breathes our belief that nurses deserve more.

Together, we created a day of beach reset and recovery — guided yoga sessions, sauna + cold plunge to calm the nervous system, massages, and thoughtful wellness gifts, including Healing Hands scrub sets for every yoga participant. This partnership allowed us to transform nurse appreciation into a tangible movement, and create an entire day of movement, for us to put nurses first.

Healing Hands: What impact do you hope this event had on the nurses who attended?

Sarah and Josh: We saw dozens of nurses leave feeling emotional, not just from getting to spend time in a nurses-only beachfront retreat, but from finally receiving the kind of care and attention they deserve. We hope the nurses who attended know that people outside their hospital walls truly care about their sacrifice and hard work, from the people who make their scrubs (like Healing Hands) to the people to help find them their dream jobs (that’s us!).

Nurse Voices from the Wellness Social

We also spoke with several nurses who attended the Santa Monica event to hear, in their own words, what the day of wellness and connection meant to them.

Healing Hands: What did it mean to you to have a day dedicated to nurse wellness and self-care outside of the hospital?

Hector Godinez, RN, and Sarah Tran told us, “It meant community and connection with hard-working, dedicated people who are out there healing the world.”

For Kevin Vuitton, Community Health Director for CNSA at West Coast University, the experience was deeply meaningful: “Having a full day focused on wellness felt amazing, and our entire cohort came out to join. I even reconnected with nurses I hadn’t seen since school, which made the event feel both special and long overdue.”

Nikki Taylor, a registered nurse at UCLA, echoed that sentiment, adding, “It meant everything for a scrubs company or people outside the hospital to recognize the hard work we do. Not only was it a nurse event, but it focused on self-care. A lot of the time we focus on others, so even a five- or ten-minute massage or small gesture goes a long way to help us take care of ourselves.”

Q: Which part of the event had the biggest impact on you, and how did it make you feel afterward?

For Hector and Sarah, the yoga session stood out most: “Leading the yoga was so rewarding. I saw so many smiles and people telling themselves they were doing something they had never done before. It felt incredible to inspire people to move their bodies.”

Kevin shared that the cold plunge was a powerful new experience: “I loved the cold plunge. It was my first time trying it, and jumping in with friends gave me a rush that felt like a complete reset.”

Nikki reflected on both the massage and yoga: “The massage was great and helped me get into the right framework at the start. The yoga was also amazing, especially doing it as a group with a great instructor and atmosphere. Both activities really helped me reconnect with my body.”

Q: How did it feel doing yoga and wellness activities while wearing Healing Hands scrubs?

Every nurse we spoke with mentioned comfort and ease, especially while trying the Healing Hands Quest scrubs during the day’s activities.

Hector and Sarah shared, “The scrubs were super comfortable. The stretch and sweat-wicking are amazing, and the fabric feels so good you just want to keep it on all day.”

Kevin agreed, saying, “My Healing Hands scrubs were so comfortable and flexible, which made participating in all of the activities so effortless.”

Nikki summed it up simply: “I loved it. It was a little warm, but it brought me back to the purpose of why we were there—connecting mindfulness with being a nurse.”

A Day of Reset, A Future of Care

The Healing Hands x Rounds Health Nurse Wellness Social was more than an event—it was a reminder of what happens when nurses are given the space, recognition and care they deserve. The ripple effect was clear: when nurses are supported, their communities and patients feel it too.

With nurse leaders and students already reaching out to bring Healing Hands into their programs, this day on the beach feels like just the beginning of something bigger—a growing movement to put nurses first.

Stay tuned for future Healing Hands events as we continue to create space for wellness, connection, and gratitude within the healthcare community.
