Alice Benjamin, MSN, ACNS-BC, FNP-C, widely known as “Nurse Alice,” is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist, NBC Los Angeles medical contributor, and host of the Ask Nurse Alice podcast.
With more than 25 years of experience in cardiovascular, critical care, and emergency nursing, Alice has dedicated her career to caring for patients at their most vulnerable while championing safer, higher-quality care. Her journey began as a certified nursing assistant and advanced through LPN and ADN before earning her graduate degrees, shaping her deep appreciation for every role within the nursing profession. In addition to providing direct patient care, she has served as associate nursing faculty and as a hospital patient safety officer, guiding and supporting nurses at every stage of their careers.
Alice currently serves on the ANA/C Foundation Board of Trustees, the California BRN Nursing Education and Workforce Advisory Committee, and as a CE Program Director at Nurse Approved, contributing to efforts that shape the future of nursing education and the workforce.
A champion of health, wellness, and self-care, Alice believes that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. She carries this belief into every space she serves, supporting and uplifting nurses with intention and care.
